Our Chocolate Story
My Chocolate Soul grew out of Ramona Thomas’ love of chocolate and her frustration with candy labels containing artificial ingredients. While Ramona had baked for nearly 20 years, the idea for the business emerged after taking an introduction to French pastries course, which changed her life. With a plan, personal investment, and professional training, Ramona launched My Chocolate Soul in 2011. Ramona is a graduate (with honors) of Ecole Chocolat’s Professional School of Chocolate Arts Professional Chocolatier Program. She also completed the Barry Callebaut Chocolate Academy’s program for professional chocolatiers, and continuing education courses at the French Pastry School and Barry Callebaut Chocolate Academy in Chicago. Before founding My Chocolate Soul, Ramona had an entrepreneurial career in education and philanthropy. She holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Brown University and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Pennsylvania.
